Mr. Maymí has participated as either lender’s counsel, borrower’s counsel, and/or tax credits counsel in most of Puerto Rico’s hospitality development projects over the last three decades. His practice includes corporate law, corporate finance, and real estate transactions related to the development of hotels, condo-hotels, timeshare projects, golf courses, and mixed-use projects under Puerto Rico’s tourism tax incentives laws. As a hospitality law practitioner, he has been involved in the drafting and negotiating of hotel management agreements, franchise agreements, hotel lease and concession agreements, condo-hotel rental and management agreements, and the procurement of casino licenses and sports betting licenses, among others.
Mr. Maymí started his career at a prominent law firm in Puerto Rico and in 2000 founded Maymí Rivera, LLC, which merged with Marichal Hernández LLC in 2019. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and a member of the Board of Directors of three Citigroup Asset Management Mutual Funds: the Puerto Rico U.S. Core Equities Fund, the Puerto Rico Daily Liquidity Fund, and the Puerto Rico Income and Capital Fund.
